Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Where are you located?

A.I'm based in Ashburn, Virginia, and serve the Loudoun County community.

What kind of photography to you offer?

A.I photograph high school seniors, professional headshots, sports and families.

When do I have to pay for my session?

A.For 15 minute sessions, mini sessions and Showtime, full payment is required to book your appointment. For all other sessions, a 50% deposit is required to confirm your session, with the final 50% due at least three days prior to your appointment.

Your session will only occur when the total payment has been made, and prior to your session. If you do not pay your final deposit three days prior to your session, it will be canceled.

What does the price cover?

A.The session price covers the time for your session plus the digital images included in the session type that you choose. You can either have your photos printed at your favorite shop/online store, or you can easily purchase prints from within your online gallery for an additional cost.

Every client is different, so I do not include print packages with my sessions.

Do you reschedule if the weather is bad for an outdoor session? And is there a fee to reschedule?

A.Yes, I am happy to reschedule for bad weather, and no, there is no fee to do so! I typically ask a client to keep the adjacent day open for backup, but if that's not available, we can likely shift to the following weekend.

What will I receive?

A.You'll receive an online gallery with high resolution digital images delivered both in color and black and white. From your online gallery, you can download your images and/or purchase prints and other products for an additional cost.

What do you charge for your services?

A.I offer 15, 30, 60 and 90 minute portrait sessions. They cost $249, $399, $599 and $999, respectively.

Individual action photos are $75 per individual/athlete, and the cost for an entire team/all individuals is $499.

I can also provide customized quotes for longer sessions!

Do you offer indoor/studio sessions or outdoor sessions?

A.I offer both indoor studio sessions and outdoor sessions.

Where do you have your outdoor sessions?

A.I have a few locations around Loudoun County and the Washington, DC metro area (WMA) I love to use, and I also have an indoor studio in my home. I'm happy to share those locations when you contact me for your session!

If a permit is required for your session, that will be an additional charge. Similarly, I can only shoot on location if I have permission by that land owner or I can be fined (such as with the DC monuments, which are a part of the National Park System).

What types of payment do you take?

A.I accept PayPal, Venmo or CashApp. You can also use a credit card through PayPal, even if you do not have a PayPal account.

Can I pay after my session? Or when my images are delivered?

A.All payment is due in full prior to your session or event.

How are images delivered?

A.I'll send your online gallery to the email address used to sign up. From there you can download your images, purchase prints, and share on social media.

When will I get my photos?

A.I pride myself on delivering my galleries quickly, usually within a week of your session, depending on my schedule. I want to get your photos to you as fast as possible! The maximum time I will take to deliver your photos is three weeks.

Do you Photoshop your images?

A.I will gladly make gentle edits to your images such as removing minor skin blemishes or reducing redness. However, any major Photoshop needs will be at least $50 per image, depending on what needs to be done. As a general rule, however, I do not do major editing on your images because I want them to look as natural as possible.

Do I own my photos that you take?

A.You will either be given a personal print release and/or commercial use license so you can have your photos and use them per the terms of our agreement. As the photographer, I own the legal copyright to any images that I take unless we arrange to transfer the copyright to you.

Do you photograph weddings?

A.I am happy to serve as a second shooter for a lead or primary photographer. I do not shoot weddings as a primary photographer otherwise.

What is your privacy policy?

A.Please visit mandypoff.com/privacy for details, however, please note that I will always remove any photos from my website and/or social media requests when a client requests it without question.
